So there is life! Sunshine Factory has been busy locked away in their barn in Palmdale putting the finishing touches on their debut album while at the same time writing new songs for their project with Ghost Ghost Teeth. A book of illustrations supplied by local artists Ghost Ghost Teeth, with the Sunshine crew supplying the score. Here’s a sneak peak from the lab of Ghost Ghost Teeth studios. A Salty Dog! Culdesac Kids
So a few years ago Sunshine Factory came into my life by way of a radio interview/performance on my radio show, My Side of The City on KPFK 90.7 FM in Los Angeles. Somewhere that night during their performance I made up my mind to start a record label.
After the show was over we walked over to Fat Burger and grabbed some burgers. We laughed a lot, quite a lot, especially at Tony for referring to himself as Tony… “Tony the Tiger” during the interview. I needed to say something. Fat Burger closed and we hung around the parking saying our goodbyes and giving our thanks. Then I asked them if they wanted to do a 7” together. They said yes and I’ve never looked back.
This song reminds me of all the good memories and the hard work, not to mention my good fortune to have met such a lovely group of individuals.

About a month or so before the release of Dissolution, The Cosmopolites plus a few friends set up shop at KPFK for an impromptu recording session. We set up a few make shift cameras, dimmed the lights and hit record. We loved the session so much we decided to put the song on the album and share the video. A collection of 8 hand-picked tracks taken from the band’s previously lost home recordings, this album marries the pluming, dreamlike illustrations of LA artist Ghost Ghost Teeth with the Sondheim-like vocal range and stylings of Cosmopolites front-man Travis Fisher for a sensory experience that will temporarily transport you. It’s like nothing we’ve ever heard, or released, and we’re extremely proud of this original package. Always with a flare for the theatric, we like to say they perform Groovy Theatrics.
